The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, says dust is expected to be transported from Nigeria into the northern parts of Nigeria.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director General of NiMet, Professor Mansur Bako Matazu in Abuja.
It says the dust will further affect horizontal visibility in most parts of the North while visibility reduction is expected in places like Maiduguri, Nguru, Potiskum, Dutse, Gombe, Yola, Bauchi, Katsina and Kano.
According to the statement flight operations are expected to be disrupted and airline operators are required to collect their flight folders and adhere to regulations, especially at aerodromes in the Northern parts of the country.
It urges road users to drive slowly and carefully due to poor visibility during this period stressing that people with respiratory disease should take caution and reduce their outdoor activities.
It emphasizes that NiMet will continue to monitor the weather and keep Nigerians updated.
