COVID 19 : Reps Harp On Adherence To Safety Protocols

The House of Representatives has mandated the Ministry of Health to immediately activate strategies to ensure adherence to COVID 19 guidelines following the emergence of the new COVID 19 Omicron Variant.

This is sequel to a motion sponsored by Musa Bagos from Plateau State under matters of urgent public importance at plenary.

Leading the debate the lawmaker who expressed concern that Canada had traced its first case of the deadly new variant to two people who were recently in Nigeria stressed the need for more sensitization to prevent the spread of the Virus.

Speaking in support of the motion Henry Uwauba from Imo state who stressed the need for strict observance of covid 19 safety protocols questioned the utilization of the funds budgeted for the health sector.

The House also mandated the Nigeria center for disease control to ensure intensive observation and check on travel Protocols for inbound passengers.
