The Federal government has launched a malaria Campaign tagged ‘Mama Put‘ to promote appropriate fever care management among Nigerians.
At the Launch in Abuja, the Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire said the campaign would create social and behavioural change in citizens.
Represented by the Director Public Health, Dr Alex Okoh, the minister who encouraged Nigerians on proper test and treatment, maintained that the campaign would accelerate the process of the elimination of malaria in the country within the next five years.
In a presentation, the implementing partner, Deputy Project Director Malaria and Tuberculosis, Breakthrough Action Nigeria, Dr Bolatito Ayenigba explained that the campaign supported by the USAID was developed from the character of Mama Put and played by a popular actress Ada Ameh.
According to her, the campaign will sensitise Nigerians on prompt care seeking, testing and completion of treatment.
