As part of preparations for Christmas celebration, First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja has marked its 2020 Christmas Carol with songs of praises to God for sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
On the occasion in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Minister in Charge, Reverend Deji Oyelami advised Christians to always emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ.
Reverend Oyelami who described the birth of Jesus Christ as a blessing to christiandom enjoined Christians to shun acts detrimental to the birth of Jesus Christ.
According to him, celebration without the celebrant in their lives and endeavour is a worthless celebration.
The Baptist Clergyman also admonished them to use the season in showing love to the needy and less privileged in the society
Reverend Oyelami stressed the need for Christians to obey the COVID 19 safety guidelines as they go about this year’s Christmas celebration
The Baptist Clergyman who described this year’s celebration as a period for sober reflection urged christians to pray for the economic recession, COVID 19 and progress of Nigeria.
Some members of the church, Deacon Victor Asade, Mr Mathew Mobolaji and Mrs Bisi Ajao said though year 2020 has been challenging, they still have reasons to thank God for the gift of life .
Highlights of the Christmas Carol were special song renditions, playlet and prayer for improved security and socio economic development of the Country.
