Nasarawa State Police command has apprehended 42 suspected criminals for alleged vandalism, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape and other offences.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bola Longe made this known while parading the suspects in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
Mr Bola Longe stated that 17 of the suspects who were arrested for alleged vandalism of railway tracks had been on the run since the police busted activies of railway vandals in Gudi, Akwanga local government area of the state recently.
One of the suspects in an interview with Radio Nigeria Mr Bitrus Hassan confessed to have participated in vandalizing the rail tracks and carted away the slippers and slabs.
Items recovered from the suspects include firearms and live ammunition, iron cutting machines and a vehicle.
